Liu Changyu, the second-level inspector of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce, replied, “After research, the 127th Canton Fair will be postponed. We will continue to make careful preparations with relevant departments and localities to improve the prevention and control of the epidemic. Various work plans. After the specific holding date is determined, we will release it as soon as possible.”
He emphasized that the Canton Fair is an important platform for China’s foreign trade and opening to the outside world, and a “barometer” and “weathervane” for China’s foreign trade. Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the Ministry of Commerce, together with the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, has made preparations for the 127th Canton Fair as planned on the one hand, and closely followed the trend of the epidemic on the other hand, in-depth analysis of relevant impacts, and adjustment and improvement of various plans.
